truth seeker | healer | earth woman
As an empath, Jocelyn brings genuine warmth and compassion to her work and relationships, offering support, grounding, and loving acceptance. She holds space for healing by creating an environment where it’s safe to feel, reflect, inquire, and simply be. Having struggled with anxiety and depression on and off for years, Jocelyn understands firsthand what a transformative journey yoga can be, and she wishes to inspire growth and healing in others by offering a nurturing environment to explore and tune into the wisdom of the subtle body.
With a focus on pranayama (breath), mindfulness, and compassion, Jocelyn’s yoga classes encourage students to be curious about their thoughts, feelings, and reactions; and invite room for acceptance of the experience as it is. Her vinyasa flow style uses breath awareness to establish a steady connection to the body, and incorporates thoughtful sequencing which often starts slowly and builds from the ground up to create a powerful moving meditation. This, along with Jocelyn’s calm, supportive energy, empowers students to believe in their own worth, release limiting perceptions, and reconnect to the innate wisdom and grace that exists within each of us.
In her yoga offerings and energy work, Jocelyn's approach to healing is filled with intentions for the highest good, and she meets each person where they are, with equanimity and ease. She holds space for you to show up authentically and meet yourself where you are with warmth and love, ensuring you always feel safe and supported. She firmly believes in the body's capacity to heal itself, and so her goal is not to "fix" you, but to support you as your body uses Source energy to balance and heal itself. Her primary goal in service to others, is to help them discover the ability to reconnect to their own Source and divine nature… remembering that we are each divine, energetic beings who are not separate, who each have many gifts, and who are all worthy of love.
Jocelyn is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, trained by Gopi Kinnicutt in the traditions of Bhakti Yoga at Yoga Mandali in 2012. She has since studied under the influences of Ana Forrest, Coby Kozlowski, Carolyn Myss, Gaura Vani, and Edwin Bryant. In 2015 she received her Reiki I and II certification under the lineage of Dr. Usui, trained by Anne Cameron at the Ayurvedic Center of Vermont. She is also a graduate of Nini Gridley’s Full Spectrum Healing Chakra series, and in 2017 she received her certificate in Mindful Self Compassion with Ann Saffi Biasetti, PhD.
Off the mat, you will find her writing, working as a freelance graphic designer, creating jewelry, enjoying the great outdoors (where she feels most connected to Spirit), or snuggled up with a good book or movie!
Jocelyn sends her deepest respects and gratitude to her many teachers and guides, for without them she may not have found the grace, humility, and empowerment to serve.
i like to write + share the journey
I believe that we are all connected through our shared human experience.
You are not alone in your pain / joy / grief / excitement / fill-in-the-blank. We all long to be loved, we all experience growth and suffering, as well as happiness and joy.
By sharing my story, my experience, my journey, I hope it will inspire others to recognize that we are never alone and we are in this together.
Your voice matters. You matter.
